The main purpose of laminar flow cabinets is to create a homogeneous flow of purified air in the working area for sterile work. Their main task is product protection. This equipment is used to work with sterile samples or non-pathogenic microorganisms safe for the operator and the environment (for example, use in electronics assembly, plant tissue culture, preparation of nutrient media, etc.).
In the catalog of our store you will find cabinets with horizontal and vertical air flow.
Laminar cabinets with horizontal air flow
The horizontal laminar flow cabinet provides a sterile working area through purified air, which moves in a horizontal unidirectional flow and leaves the main working chamber through the entire exposed front of the cabinet.
Air flow diagram of the laminar cabinet with horizontal air supply
Air intake is carried out through the top of the laminar cabinet, and then cleaned through a preliminary filter with a retention efficiency of 85%. Then the purified air passes through the ULPA filter and enters the working area by a laminar horizontal flow. Air passing through the working area of the cabinet escapes into the environment through the open front space of the laminar cabinet. The nominal airflow velocity is 0.45 m/s, which guarantees reliable protection of the product and process
in the working area of the cabinet.
Areas of application:
Work with plant tissue cultures
Bottling of microbiological media
Inspection/assembly of electronics and optics
Assembly of medical equipment
Laminar cabinets with vertical air flow
The cabinet with vertical laminar flow provides protection for samples as purified air passes through the working area of the cabinet and leaves the main working chamber through the open front of the cabinet. Most vertical laminar cabinets also have perforations on the back wall of the work area, which are designed to eliminate air turbulence and the possibility of dead air corners in the work area.
Air flow diagram of the laminar cabinet with vertical air supply
Air intake is carried out through the top of the laminar cabinet and is cleaned with a preliminary filter with a detention efficiency of 85%. It holds the largest particles of air flow, thereby extending the life of the main filter. Pre-purified air passes further through the ULPA filter and enters the working area by laminar flow. The air passing through the working area of the cabinet escapes to the outside through the open front opening of the laminar cabinet.
Areas of application:
Forensic examination
Sterile work with products
Microscopy under sterile conditions
Work with plant tissue cultures
Bottling of microbiological media
Inspection/assembly of electronics and optics
Laminar cabinets for polymerase chain reaction with vertical air flow
Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) cabinets provide a vertical laminar flow that passes through the HEPA filter and cleans the work area of contamination between amplifications and during preparatory procedures.
ESCO offers premium performance at a price that is competitive with conventional dead air boxes. Laminar flow technology with HEPA filtration and UV decontamination in ESCO PCR rooms provides excellent protection against cross-contamination in the head chamber, making it a proven solution for PCR without the risk of contamination and cross-contamination.
